ABOUT Virasat PEACE Org.

The organization Virasat P.E.A.C.E. (Punjabi Elite Art & Cultural Education) Org. Canada is the part of Virasat Entertainers working In Patiala, Punjab, (India) since 1999 with Primary objective to plan and organize the youth activities amongst the upcoming youth in collages, schools and in deep rural pockets. It is an organization devoted for revival, promotion, preservation and dissemination of the rich cultural traditions of Punjab in upcoming generations. The organization was established by the eminent artists, teachers, performers, folklorists. A number of other professionals & distinguished personalities and Institutions have joined this organization.

Now after 3 years of participation with other social and cultural organizations in Canada Virasat PEACE Org. started working independently under the said name with new team members from November 2008. Virasat PEACE organizes exhibitions, seminars, competitions, workshops and cultural shows on major Punjabi cultural issues. We endeavor to foster the feeling of fraternity amongst the creative artists and to bring about an awareness of their obligations towards the society. The artist members of Virasat P.E.A.C.E. lead by its management, are the distinguished artists from schools, colleges, universities and many of them hail from south Asian community that could not get proper platform to explore their talent. Most of them are amateur artists, students studying in reputed educational institutions and have been winners at the state and national level youth festivals for years together. Virasat P.E.A.C.E. artists have presented Punjabi folk dances, Folk music, art & crafts in all corners of India as well as abroad. These artists possess the treasure of the traditional forms of Punjabi dances viz Giddha, Malwai Giddha, Jhumar, Bhangra, Sammi and Folk orchestra with Punjabi Folk Musical Instruments. The group has performed in France, Canada, Singapore Bangkok, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Austria, Syria, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman on the sponsorship of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs India, North Zone Cultural Center, Patiala and other International cultural organizations.

VPO have the satisfaction of making an outstanding contribution in enrichment of social, cultural, literary life style and Folk Arts of Punjab in North America. Virasat have played significant role in protecting the cultural heritage of Punjab in upcoming generations to join them with their roots and diverting them from violence, drugs and other anti-social activities to healthy – wealthy rich cultural environment.
